Chromatography is widely used for the industrial separation of biopharmaceuticals such as proteins and antibodies. The modeling and simulation group at the Institute for Bio- and Geosciences is currently developing a universal software framework (CADET) for model-bases analysis and design of chromatographic separation processes. This framework is based on a fast and accurate simulator with flexible interfaces for solving various optimization problems, such as model calibration, process optimization, and design of experiments.
The CADET framework shall be applied for studying separation processes of academic and industrial relevance. For these tasks we seek Master candidates with a sound background in separation science and some modeling experience. We provide an excellent working environment with state of the art algorithms and a broad data basis, in a highly motivated and interdisciplinary team. Programming experience in MATLAB would be a big plus, but can also be acquired on the job.
